Review: Nuna Prym Car Seat

The Prym is a premium i-size car seat from Nuna. It boosts impressive safety aspects most notably the automatic deploy of side impact shields as soon as your child is seated.
Its suitable from birth up until approximately 4 years so the Nuna Prym is the perfect investment to grow with your child. It comes with removable inserts so that you can adapt sizing.
Another great selling point is its 360-degree rotation, which allows the switch between front and rear facing much easier, not to mention getting baby in and out of the car. This is a real benefit for new parents.
Price and arrival
It comes in at a higher price point compared to its competitors, however, this is one sturdy piece of kit, the heaviness of the box it arrives in backs that up, so you may need a strong pair of hands around to help with the installation.
How do you install?
The car seat can be fitted with an Isofix base and support leg. When the seat is correctly attacked an indictor will turn green, this is helpful as it lets you know everything is safely installed.
Key Features
As it is an i-Size seat it means it is designed to ensure children are rear facing for longer. The deployment shields provide instant protection and as mentioned the Isofix installation makes it easy to install.
There is also a smart ride lock off with gives you security when switching between front and rear facing positions.
Other features include load leg, rebound bar and strength technology.
We really love the rotation feature, gone are the days of awkward bends into the car, carrying a baby is hard enough!
It comes with two seat covers, a warm for winter and a mesh (both machine washable) for summer so with the Prym, Nuna really have considered everything.
Comfort
In terms of comfort the seat is made from Tailor tech memory foam which is EPS energy absorbing meaning it’s a snug fit. The detachable inserts also give you the option to adapt the size of the seat itself.
There are 7 recline levels, which is quite a unique feature from a car seat. At the push of a button you can simply choose your desired tilt, perfect for nap times and longer journeys.
Headrest
The headrest also has 8 adjustable positions, so you can move it up as it grows with your child, making this seat a great investment if you are looking for one to last.
Straps
Some car seats come with very fiddley straps, however the Prym’s are easy to lock in place thanks to the magnetic buckle holder. A plus is that you don’t have to rethread when adjusting them – just simply pull from the bottom – easy!

The Prym isn’t a cheap car seat but you get what you pay for and you certainly can’t put a price on your child’s safety. It has a luxurious and high end feel which is built to last, so despite the price tag you will have the knowledge you have a seat that is built to grow as your child does.
