New study reveals the best European cities for Digital Nomads in 2023
Martinhal, leaders in luxury family travel, has revealed their ranking index of the best European cities in Europe for digital nomads. As the cost-of-living crisis deepens and many of us remain working remotely, more people are turning to a digital nomad lifestyle.
Thirty major European cities were chosen for the study for their popularity, those with the busiest airports and the most flights booked, as well as which destinations were popular on Google Trends. From there a wide range of data points were used: sunshine hours per year, average annual rainfall, national crime rate, happiness ranking, maximum cost of a work visa, average internet speed, total monthly living cost, monthly rent (one bedroom apartment), monthly public transport costs, price of coffee, number of Michelin Guide restaurants, co-working spaces, parks and nature attractions, number of international schools.
These data points were combined to form an overall ranking for the 30 major European cities, revealing which ones would be the best for people to embrace a location-independent, technology-enabled lifestyle.
