Illuminated Garden Trail lights up Helmingham Hall Gardens, Suffolk

The spectacular Grade I listed gardens at Helmingham Hall, Suffolk, will be on show in a whole new light from Friday 15 November through to Wednesday 18 December when the annual Illuminated Garden Trail opens for 2024.

Featuring innovative lighting and sound, entirely devised and created by the in-house team, the trail covers around one mile of pathways in and around the gardens.

In keeping with the estate’s sustainable approach to horticulture, new elements include creative uses for fallen trees from elsewhere in the park, as well as illumination of key areas like the moat, the Coach House garden and the walled garden.

Younger guests will love a vibrant new walkthrough and unlike many other light trails, dogs on leads are more than welcome to join in for festive walkies along the Illuminated Light Trail.

Gates open at 4.30pm, with timed sessions every 15 minutes – all tickets must be booked online in advance.

Additional fun for families includes a vintage 1920s galloper carousel and toasting s’mores around the firepit. Suffolk Wildflower Pizza will be on hand for hot food along with Wright’s Café and the Stable Shops will also be open for festive treats and gifts.
