Latitude Festival, the beloved summer event that blends music, arts, comedy, and literature, is back with a bang in 2024, promising a lineup and experience to remember.

Rachel Ducker from Bounce Magazine had the privilege of attending Latitude’s Press Day to get an early glimpse of what festival-goers can expect this year.

Upon arrival, Rachel wasted no time diving into the festival gossip. She started by chatting with some of the local talent who will be gracing the BBC Introducing stage. Bands like Loome and Samfire shared their excitement about being part of such a renowned festival and emphasised how Latitude provides a fantastic platform for emerging artists.

Rachel also had the opportunity to catch up with key figures behind the scenes. Ed Lilo, the head music booker, shed light on the intricate process of curating Latitude’s diverse lineup, promising a mix of established acts and emerging talents across various genres. Kirsty Taylor, the arts co-ordinator, discussed the exciting line up this years and the ones that will enchant festival attendees, making Latitude more than just a music festival but a celebration of creativity in all its forms.

One of the highlights of Rachel’s day was her conversation with Melvin Benn, the festival director. Benn shared his vision for Latitude 2024, emphasising the festival’s commitment to sustainability and inclusivity. He hinted at exciting collaborations and surprises in store, promising that this year’s edition will be one to remember.

However, the icing on the cake for Rachel was her encounter with none other than Hollywood legend Damian Lewis. Known for his roles in “Billions” and “Homeland,” Lewis has recently ventured into the world of music, releasing his debut album “Mission Creep” in 2023. Rachel spoke to him about his upcoming performance at Latitude and his transition from acting to music.

“I’m thrilled to be part of Latitude this year,” Lewis exclaimed. “It’s a fantastic festival that celebrates the arts in all its forms.”
