Celebrate this Christmas with Namaste Village’s Celebration Menu
This Christmas, Namaste Village Norwich will be filling its kitchen with home-inspired, vibrant festive flavours. Guests are invited to try the epic Christmas Celebration Menu, running daily throughout November and up to Christmas eve with the option to select individual dishes (prices vary), or enjoy it as a five course feast (£35.95).
The award-winning Indian restaurant group also has venues across London, Oxford, Cambridge, Southend, and now Birmingham*, inviting everyone to enjoy the truest and some inspired flavours of India for a season of warmth and togetherness.
Curated by Chef Urmila Jetani, whose culinary roots lie in the vibrant flavours of Gujarat, this fully vegetarian and vegan menu is infused with the warmth and spirit of the season. Drawing inspiration from festive ingredients and winter traditions, she has crafted a refreshingly innovative selection, rich with her uniquely created spices and celebratory flavours.
There’s a wide range on offer, with starters like the “Galawati” Kebabs, with “galawti” meaning “melt in mouth” and mains including a crimson red coloured Christmas Masala Dosa and Saffron Royale Kofta. Accompany them with either Red Velvet Naans or Jewelled Cranberry & Nut Pilau. For dessert, savour Indian Carrot Fudge with a kiss of Brandy Butter, or try Indian milk ice cream with Tri Kulfi Bowl. Accompany your meal with fresh mango lassi made with pure kesar mango pulp, a warming spiced masala chai, or classic Indian Nimbu soda or a wine selection that tells you what pairs best with the flavours you pick.
Cocktails are infused with Indian flavours like tamarind, chilli, and cardamom. Try The Holi-Tini – inspired by the Indian festival of colours and love – made with gin, passionfruit liqueur and pineapple juice shaken with tamarind and garnished with dragon fruit powder, or perfect for the autumn months, Kaffir Negroni – an exotic twist to the Italian classic – gin based with bitter bianco and bergamot, finished with a green touch of kaffir lime leaf.
Indian-style beers are available and a small and succinct wine list has been created focussed on sustainable wineries and small scale vineyards that prioritise biodiversity.
Charity runs deep in Namaste Village’s roots and is enriched with Indian values. Aiding to solve World Hunger is a cause the team are very passionate about, so much so that they have their own in-house initiative Dosa on the Wall. Customers are encouraged to donate £5 (or more if they wish). Namaste Village matches each donation equally to make it one free meal, roughly the price of their Masala Dosa, spreading support for others and good karma. For every donation made, a sticker is displayed on the restaurant window and anyone in need of a meal can use it to claim a free meal. This person could be from all walks of life, simply in need of a meal, without losing his/her dignity.
This Christmas, celebrate the festive season, with India’s rich culinary heritage, handcrafted menus, cozy ambience, heart warming hospitality and some boldly inspired flavours, crafted with care.
