Staying at Stable Cottage

During our visit, we had the pleasure of staying at Stable Cottage, one of the charming accommodations within the reserve.

This quaint cottage offers a blend of rustic charm and modern amenities, providing a comfortable retreat for guests. With spacious living areas, a fully equipped kitchen, and comfortable bedrooms, Stable Cottage caters to four people, making it perfect for families or small groups.

What sets Stable Cottage apart is its additional amenities. Nestled within its own private garden, the cottage boasts a wood-fired hot tub, where guests can relax and unwind while enjoying views of the surrounding countryside and the rare wildlife.

For those feeling more active, there are tennis courts available, providing opportunities for friendly matches or leisurely games.

In addition to Stable Cottage, guests can also choose to stay at Majors Lodge or Gate Lodge, two other holiday cottages within the reserve, each offering its own unique charm and amenities.

Exploring the Surroundings

Stable Cottage’s location is ideal for exploring the surrounding area. Just a short 30-minute drive from the coast, it offers easy access to beaches and seaside attractions. In the evenings, after a day of wildlife spotting, we enjoyed a classic British experience: fish and chips by the sea. The nearby pier provided a lively atmosphere for family fun.

One of the highlights of our visit was the safari buggy tour, an exhilarating adventure through Watatunga’s diverse landscapes.

Led by knowledgeable guides, we embarked on a journey through woodlands, meadows, and lakes, encountering a variety of wildlife along the way.
