International Sporting Events Not to Be Missed In 2022
Another year begins and we’ve all got our new calendars out, fresh to be filled with events for the year.
For the sports fans among us that means taking a look at the biggest sporting events in the world, and perhaps even incorporating them into a break.
Think about it. If you’re going to pay the extortionate rate some of these sport events ask for to see your favourite players up close, you might as well add a flight and really make it worth it. Once you have cheered so loud your throat is hoarse, you can kick back by the beach with a soothing cocktail to recover.
Sounds amazing, right? Well, if you’re interested, you’ll love our list of the best sporting events to happen throughout the year. Take your pick.
The F1 Grand Prix
The problem with the F1 Grand Prix is deciding which round to go to. There are circuits all around the world, including England if you fancy a staycation.
But for those who like the sun you have the option of Australia, Morocco, Portugal, Sweden, Mexico, Brazil, Italy and far more to choose from.
Is it a problem, or an opportunity? Don’t tell the family there’s a circuit in Silverstone (and three more in the UK), and be on your way to a luxury break that includes the biggest racing sport in the world. As usual, if you are heading out abroad, its worth getting in some travel insurance, as an example you could check Staysure for offers on travel insurance.
And after all the hullaballoo about Lewis Hamilton not winning for the first time in years, can you really afford to miss this year?
The World Series of Poker
For those you like to gamble, there is the World Series of Poker to see. The WSOP is the world’s biggest poker tournament, and you can tell. This year Hollywood actor Vince Vaughn has been pulled in as Master of Ceremonies, which is a fancy means of saying he will present.
All of the biggest names in poker will be there, as well as a few new faces. The brilliance of poker is its ability to allow new talent in quickly, with no one name winning every year …Lewis Hamilton.
It’s a must watch for those who can appreciate the mix of strategy, body language and luck that goes into the game and makes for a methodological watch.
This year marks a change in the history of WSOP. The tournament will be moved to the Bally’s and Paris Hotel and Casino, but won’t shift from its hometown, Las Vegas. This will make for a fun trip for anyone looking to see some action up close. Say the Mr or Mrs isn’t so much into poker, Vegas will offer her an abundance of shows, shops and other activities to enjoy until the game’s over.
The Winter Olympics
Beijing is famously hosting this year’s 2022 Winter Olympics, beginning on February 4th, so you better get those flights quick.
The brilliance of the Olympics is that there’s something for everyone. Maybe the little ones aren’t a fan of skiing, then take them to the figure skating. Maybe your wife isn’t into the bobsled and would rather see the hockey. There is something to keep everyone amused.
And then you’re in Beijing! It’s hard to decide which major Asian city feels more like stepping into Blade Runner, but Beijing comes close to the cyberpunk lifestyle. It is a brilliant fusion of ancient culture and bleeding edge modernity. Amongst the buildings alone, you can see one of the tallest skyscrapers, or head to a humble temple full of culture and historical relevance.
