Little Butterfly London Launches Microbiome-Friendly Skincare Range for Kids
Little Butterfly London – the award-winning certified-organic skincare brand for mothers and babies – is delighted to announce the launch of its new kids range, which is specially formulated for children aged 3+ years old.
The unique collection is the first skincare range of its kind which is formulated and clinically proven to care for the unique microbiome that protects a child’s delicate skin, which is thin, porous, prone to dryness and sensitive to irritants.
Gudrun Wurm, CEO and Founder of Little Butterfly London, says: “We’re proud to bring the purest, kindest skincare to mothers and babies – and now, for the unique skin of kids, too! Kids’ skincare products need to be as natural as the world they inherit and without harsh or harmful chemicals. All ingredients should be natural and pure to support their skin’s natural development. Let’s encourage kids to fly free – to explore life and embrace joyful adventures!
“We believe the universe is limitless and that we are here to explore life with joyful curiosity – each day offering new possibilities for unique adventures. Our heart’s mission was to create a range that reflects this energy and inspires enthusiasm for life, showing that anything is possible in this boundless universe. While kids are fording streams, rolling down hills, or climbing trees, we encourage them to feel unlimited, strong and confident in their own skin, which sets the philosophy for our new 3+ kids range: to simply fly free.”
Proudly made in England, using the finest responsibly sourced and traceable raw and organic ingredients, the new kids’ range is Ecocert COSMOS certified-organic, vegan-friendly and eco-consciously produced and packaged in sustainable PCR packaging (post-consumer recycled plastic) to protect the planet for future generations.
The nourishing and protective range includes: All Day Fun Protection Face Cream (£28), Glow and Grow Body Lotion (£28), Hair to Dream Conditioning Shampoo (£24) and Free to Foam Bath Bubbles (£24). The brand will also launch Clean and Beam Cleansing Face Foam (£22) in autumn 2024.
Gifting options include the Kids’ Essentials Set (£52), which includes the Glow and Grow Body Lotion and Free to Foam Bath Bubbles, and the Kids’ Bestseller Set (£80), which includes the Glow and Grow Body Lotion, Free to Foam Bath Bubbles and All Day Fun Protection Face Cream. Both sets are beautifully presented in keepsake gift boxes adorned with colourful butterflies, for the perfect present.
Featuring a delicious summer scent of crushed berries, juicy peaches, blooming roses and warm vanilla, the range is fortified with ECOSKIN®, a plant-based pre and probiotic, which strengthens the developing skin barrier, and a perfectly balanced blend of omega 3, 6 and 9 oils from rosehip, marula fruit oil and flaxseed, which calm and protect children’s precious skin. The Face Foam and Face Cream offer additional protection from environmental pollutants, with patented bioactives: Purisoft® from the moringa, and Lipo® Bisabolo from the candeia tree. The bioactive formula also offers additional anti-inflammatory benefits, which help calm and soothe irritated skin.
The microbiome is part of the skin’s barrier function designed to ensure homeostasis and is made up of a layer of billions of microorganisms that coat every inch of our skin. It is a vital barrier from harmful substances, such as chemicals, microbes, allergens, and pollutants. As children grow, nurturing a healthy microbiome is essential – it’s how we can help to strengthen their barrier’s natural immunity, support its instinctive defence system, and encourage healthy, resilient skin for the long term. Harsh or unsuitable hygiene routines can cause a breakdown of the skin barrier, and its microbiome, causing bad bacteria to colonise — leading to overly sensitive skin and potentially life-long conditions.
Little Butterfly London’s microbiome assessment study showed that the unique pre and probiotic formula blends of the kids’ range strengthens and protects the skin barrier, restores and normalises the microbiome balance, and provides support and protection of the natural microbiome without affecting the natural protective barrier.*
* Test subjects were tested by quantitative and qualitative methods before and after 4 weeks application of the products. Results were consistent regardless of skin type, age of gender.
