There are some pieces of children’s furniture that are purely practical and others that immediately create a “special” feel to a room. This Upholstered Children’s Chair in Pink Gingham from children’s interiors brand Posie & Penn is very much the latter.
Isla is super happy with her new chair and has been playing with it non stop since it arrived. It’s already become her own little chair where she sits to read, chat, play and look at pictures. There’s nothing quite like having a little piece of furniture in a child’s room where they can call their own.
A Beautiful Chair For A Child’s Bedroom
The traditional style of the chair is a beautiful country inspired design with the soft pink gingham upholstery giving it a lovely and pretty touch. The Upholstered Children’s timeless look means that it won’t date quickly and is perfect for a child’s room for years to come.
Isla’s first response to this chair was to leap up and she wouldn’t let anyone else get a look in. Since then she it has been her special place to sit and read, and I would say she is super happy with it. It has already become part of our daily routine and I must say it looks lovely in her room.
First Impressions
The first thing I noticed about this chair is just how beautiful it looks in real life, unlike so much of children’s furniture on the market. So much children’s furniture can look far too grown up for children, or even worse, be brightly coloured and have a very plastic look. But this chair has a perfect middle ground and looks child friendly, yet still beautifully finished.
The pink gingham is soft, sweet and classic, making it really easy to style. It would work beautifully with neutral walls, floral bedding, scalloped furniture, vintage-inspired accessories or a more modern children’s room that needs a softer touch.
First off, this chair is shaped in a way that makes it look and feel like a proper armchair- it is so much more than a piece of children’s furniture that they can play with. The fabric is beautiful and so soft and I love that the chair is upholstered as it makes it look more finished and complete than an uncovered chair would do. The chair is also looks so cute and is very comfortable for children to sit in- it really is the perfect combination for children’s interiors.
Why Isla Loves It
So here is the biggest review of all… from Isla herself.
There is something very special about children having their own space within a room. A chair that is just the right size gives them independence and a sense of ownership. Isla has taken to it straight away, and it is now her chosen little spot.
Isla loves sitting in her special chair, often looking very proud of herself as she sits in it. We have found that this is a lovely piece of furniture for Isla to sit in and play with. It is also great for her to sit in and have some quiet time with a book, to have a cuddle with mummy and daddy or even to have a snack in. I must say it looks as though she owns the house as she sits in her chair reading her book!
Which, to be fair, she basically does.
