We Took the Plunge on ROARR!’s New Fossil Falls

ROARR! Fossil Falls Review: By Rachel Ducker

ROARR! Dinosaur Adventure has unveiled Fossil Falls, a record-breaking outdoor tubing slide years in the making – and naturally, I was required to test it in the name of responsible parenting.

I just had to check out Fossil Falls, the new outdoor tubing slide at ROARR! Dinosaur Adventure – it’s been years in the making and I was excited to see if it lived up to the hype. As a responsible parent, I figured it was my duty to test it out, and I have to say, it was a real thrill ride!

ROARR! Fossil Falls Review

You never know what’s around the corner at ROARR! Dinosaur Adventure, and now they’ve got something brand new that’s really going to get people talking – it’s their most thrilling addition so far.

The new ride at ROARR! is really something – it’s a whopping 107 metres long, which makes it the longest outdoor tubing slide in the UK. And it’s not just that, it’s also the longest ride they’ve ever had at ROARR!. So, you climb into this big, doughnut-shaped inflatable tube, and then you’re off, zooming along the winding course. You’ll even go through a tunnel that’s 12 metres long, which is pretty cool. Finally, you’ll come to a stop at the brake ramp, hopefully still looking like you meant to do that. It’s a fun way to spend the day, and the ride is definitely an exciting addition to ROARR!.

The new attraction, which cost £250,000, was created with help from local contractors in Norfolk and Suffolk. The ride was made by a company called Swedice, who are based in the Netherlands. This is a big investment for the park, which is run by a family. It adds another exciting thing to do to an already fun-filled day out.

Meeting Bionic the Gladiator

There was an extra buzz around the park for the opening weekend as Bionic the Gladiator arrived to help officially launch Fossil Falls.

The kids were super excited when they saw the new thing that was added.

Of course, the children were thrilled to see the new attraction. As a parent, it was my job to take it for a spin.

Someone had to check that it was safe, enjoyable and suitably thrilling before allowing the children anywhere near it. This was an important act of maternal sacrifice and certainly not an excuse for me to race down a gigantic slide on an inflatable doughnut.

Unfortunately, I absolutely loved it.

Fossil Falls is thrilling enough to get your heart racing, but not so scary that it’s overwhelming. And then, just when you think it’s all over, you hit the tunnel and it’s a whole new surprise. As you zoom towards the bottom, you’ll feel a rush of excitement. But the best part might be the climb back up – it gives parents a chance to think twice about how many times they promised their kids they could ride it again on the way down!

To ride, you’ve got to be at least 90cm tall and not weigh more than 130kg. And don’t even think about wearing flip-flops – you need shoes that will stay on your feet.

More Than Just Dinosaurs

Fossil Falls is going to be a huge hit in the park, but it’s just one piece of a much bigger puzzle when it comes to planning a fun family trip.

Located in the heart of Norfolk’s woodland, ROARR! dinosaur theme park covers an impressive 85 acres.

As the UK’s largest dinosaur theme park, it boasts over 25 exciting rides, trails, shows, and play experiences that are sure to thrill visitors of all ages.

With so much to see and do, you’ll definitely need to set aside a whole day to explore everything on offer – and if you’re visiting with family, it’s a good idea to plan out your itinerary in advance to make sure everyone gets to enjoy their favourite attractions. Whether you’re a dinosaur enthusiast or just looking for a fun day out, ROARR! is the perfect destination, offering something for everyone in its vast and captivating woodland setting.

The Valley of the Dinosaurs is a must-see for anyone visiting. It’s a great place for families to explore, with a easy-to-follow trail that winds through the woods. As you walk, you’ll come face to face with life-sized, animatronic dinosaurs – and even though you know they’re not real, it’s still a thrill. When a roaring dinosaur suddenly appears from behind the trees, it’s hard not to quicken your pace, no matter how old you are. The whole family will love this experience, and it’s a great way to make some unforgettable memories.

For kids who love a good challenge, there’s Predator High Ropes, which is like a big obstacle course up in the air, and it even has a zipwire to zoom down. Then there’s Raptor Contraptor, where you get to choose how high you want to soar. If that’s not enough, you can also try Swing-O-Saurus, or just run around and play outside. And if you still have lots of energy, you can bounce on the huge Jurassic Jump pillow or climb around Pterodactyl’s Treehouse. It’s like a big adventure playground, with something for every kind of kid.ptor Contraptor allows riders to decide how high they want to fly. There is also Swing-O-Saurus, outdoor adventure play, the enormous Jurassic Jump pillow and Pterodactyl’s Treehouse for those who still have energy to burn.

The park is also a great place for younger kids. They have a special play area called Tiny Terrosaurus where little ones can have lots of fun. And for the really tiny tots, there’s Dippy-Ville, which has soft play things that are just right for them.

At Dippy’s Raceway, families can compete against each other in a fun race. Alternatively, they can try their hand at the Jurassic Putt Crazy Golf course, which has eight exciting holes to play. For those who love adventure and discovery, X-Tinction is the place to be, where kids can become palaeontologists for the day and go on a thrilling search for fossils, just like real explorers.

During warmer weather, a change of clothes is highly advisable. Dippy’s Splash Zone is packed with interactive water features, while the seasonal Foam Zone brings even more wonderfully messy fun.

A Family Day Out Whatever the Weather

We keep going back to ROARR! because the park doesn’t totally rely on the weather being good, which is a big plus when you’re planning a day out with the family in Britain, where the weather can be pretty unpredictable.

When the rain comes, Dinomite Indoor Adventure Play is a great place to go. It has three levels of fun things to climb on, like nets and rope bridges, and big slides to zoom down. There are also big pits filled with balls to play in. This is the biggest indoor play area in Norfolk, which makes it a perfect spot to escape to when the weather outside is not so nice. Instead of a sunny day, it’s more like a gray and rainy day with water coming down sideways, which is not much fun. But inside Dinomite, kids can still have a blast and get some exercise, no matter what the weather is like outside.

Dippy’s Theatre is another great spot in the park, where families can catch interactive shows in a cozy indoor auditorium. It’s a win-win for everyone – kids get to enjoy some cultural enrichment, and parents get to take a breather and rest their feet, which is just as important.

What makes ROARR! so great is that it has a good mix of things to do inside and outside. When the sun is out, you can have fun in the splash areas and go on outdoor adventures. And on rainy days, you can still have a blast inside with Dinomite and the theatre, so a little shower doesn’t have to ruin your whole day. This way, you can enjoy ROARR! all year round, no matter the weather.

As for Fossil Falls, I can confidently confirm that it has passed the official parent test.

I may even need to ride it again, purely for quality-control purposes.
