Strawberry & Jarlsberg® Bruschetta Recipe

This is strawberries and cream reimagined, pairing juicy seasonal berries with nutty, melty Jarlsberg® cheese atop golden, buttery toast. It’s sweet, savoury, and just a little unexpected, ideal for those looking to serve something elegant yet easy.

Serves 4 | Difficulty: Easy

Ingredients:

  • 4 slices of good-quality bread (like sourdough or rustic loaf)
  • A little butter, for frying
  • 150 g Jarlsberg® Original (or Lite / Special Reserve)
  • 400 g fresh strawberries
  • 1 bunch of fresh basil
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • A few drops of olive oil

Method:

  1. Toast the Bread:
    Preheat the oven to broil. Butter both sides of the bread and toast in a skillet until golden on both sides.
  2. Add Cheese & Broil:
    Place generous slices of Jarlsberg® on the toasted bread. Broil until melted and bubbling, watch closely to avoid burning.
  3. Prepare the Topping:
    Roughly chop strawberries. Finely chop the basil. Mix together with a bit of black pepper and a drizzle of olive oil.
  4. Assemble:
    Spoon the strawberry mixture over the hot, cheesy bruschetta. Serve immediately.
