Teva
The Teva brand was founded in 1984 by a rafting guide, Mark Thatcher, who lived and worked on the Colorado rivers. Confronted with the fact that regular footwear was not suitable for rafting and other water sports, he developed the first sports sandals. This was footwear that could withstand various conditions of active recreation while also providing comfort in everyday life. This revolutionary idea opened the doors to a new era of footwear, for the first time combining sportiness and convenience, which laid the foundation for the success of the Teva brand.
In 2002, nearly two decades after its creation, Teva was acquired by Deckers Outdoor Corporation. Despite the change of ownership, the brand maintained its original concept, valuing the spirit of adventure and innovation. Under the management of Deckers Outdoor Co., Teva continued to expand the range of its products, offering its fans a variety of models – from their signature sandals to sneakers and boots.
Teva footwear production is distributed in various places around the world. The company’s factories are located in Asia, Latin America, and Europe. This allows Teva to optimize manufacturing processes and ensure a high level of quality of its products.
Teva sandals are known for their unique combination of comfort, durability, and style. The sandals consist of several key materials that contribute to their functionality and durability.

What Teva sandals are made of:
Upper part of the sandals
The upper part of Teva sandals is usually made from high-quality synthetic materials such as polyester, nylon, or polyurethane. These materials are characterized by high strength and wear resistance, and they also dry quickly after contact with water. Some models may have leather details for added comfort and aesthetics.
Lining
The lining of Teva sandals is often made from soft and breathable materials for maximum comfort. Some models use microfiber lining or other materials that help prevent rubbing and create a pleasant feeling on the skin.
Sole
The sole is one of the most important parts of the footwear, and Teva does everything possible to make it as functional as possible. They use durable and flexible rubber that provides excellent traction even on slippery surfaces. Thanks to “Spider Original” or “Durabrasion” technology, the soles provide good resistance to slipping on wet surfaces. In some models, an EVA midsole is also used for additional cushioning and foot support.
It’s important to note that Teva adheres to sustainable manufacturing principles and strives to use recycled and eco-friendly materials wherever possible. This includes using recycled polyester in the uppers and using rubber from recycled tires in the soles in some collections.
Teva is committed not only to producing high-quality footwear but also to having a positive impact on society. The brand actively participates in charitable initiatives and projects aimed at environmental protection. They collaborate with various non-profit organizations around the world, contributing to the preservation of nature and the support of sustainable communities.
