Farmyard launches new frozen range…

Michelin listed ‘Farmyard‘, is a three rosette restaurant based in Norwich.

Since lockdown owners Hannah Springham and her Chef husband Andrew have been working on a new concept and recently launched a ‘Fine Frozen’ range nationally also called Farmyard.

Why Fine Frozen?

During lockdown the couple were homeschooling, plus trying to salvage the two hospitality businesses. Andrew started batch cooking and freezing to save time.

“I noticed Andrew’s food was standing the test of time in the freezer and essentially still tasted really good”, explained Hannah.

“Depressed with supermarket Friday night treat offerings and restaurant takeaways needing to be eaten straight away, I suspected there might be a gap in the market which we might be able to fill. The idea of a family run, Michelin listed restaurant doing affordable frozen dishes seemed like a no brainer for busy people who didn’t want their treat food to make them feel sick, or be a faff to organise or to think about”.

“Andrew was naturally hesitant at first – chefs are snobby about frozen anything aren’t they. But after lots of trials we’ve now managed to freeze a whole range including a half decent beef welly as well as the signature Farmyard chocolate bar. We started selling it from the restaurant in lockdown, then once we reopened we look over a big catering kitchen at The Royal Norfolk Showground (Norfolk Show is closed due to covid until 2022) because demand was good enough to make it a stand – alone business and give it a punt. We applied for a local grant to help us buy our new frozen van” said Hannah.

Why Farmyard?

Everything lasts for six months in your freezer at home so you can stock up and they deliver to anywhere in mainland UK. Orders are free over £60 or £8.99 for anything less.

Their clever gifts boxes include ’New Parents Club’ , ‘Busy Big Balls’ and ’The Decadent Diner’ plus a Christmas range next week, so that people panicking about turkeys can panic buy from them instead and stick it in the freezer well in advance.
