Dive Into Wonder: SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth’s Brand New Ocean Tunnel Now Open
If you’re looking for a day out that combines education, excitement, and a chance to get up close with some of the ocean’s most fascinating creatures, the SEA LIFE Centre in Great Yarmouth has just unveiled something truly spectacular.

After months of anticipation and careful refurbishment, the Brand New Ocean Tunnel is now open — and it’s better than ever. This stunning new feature invites visitors to take a mesmerising walk through a 250,000-litre ocean display, completely transformed with new theming and cutting-edge interactive experiences.

The centrepiece? A dramatic shipwreck scene inspired by the HMS Gloucester, which famously sank off the Norfolk coast in 1941. The theming brings a touch of local history beneath the waves, creating a vivid backdrop for the many species now swimming through the wreckage. It’s immersive, atmospheric, and a fantastic talking point for both kids and adults alike.

Home to more than 50 different species — including some of the rarest sea creatures in the world — the tank is now more than just a display; it’s a journey into the heart of the deep. Sharks glide gracefully overhead, rays sweep along the sandy floor, and colourful fish dart in and out of the coral-like structures, all brought to life with crystal-clear views.
The new interactive wave display is another highlight. Step inside and experience the sights and sounds of crashing waves all around you — a sensory treat that adds to the feeling of being completely submerged beneath the sea.

SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth has always been a favourite family destination, but this latest upgrade takes the experience to a whole new level. Whether you’re a returning visitor or exploring for the first time, the refurbished Ocean Tunnel is a must-see.
Our Verdict:
🌊 A five-star day out for all ages. With the new tunnel now open, there’s never been a better time to dive back into SEA LIFE Great Yarmouth.
