Tucked away in the heart of the Suffolk countryside, just a stone’s throw from the charming market town of Woodbridge, lies a truly special escape – Secret Meadows. Guests can find this hidden gem inside a nature reserve which protects wildlife and provides an ideal setting for families and couples and groups who want to relax in an environmentally friendly outdoor space.
Recently, the Bounce Magazine team had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful site, and it’s safe to say we fell in love from the moment we arrived.
Location: A Nature-Lover’s Dream
Secret Meadows is located on White House Farm Nature Reserve, a 115-acre site managed by the Sinfield Trust, a conservation charity dedicated to protecting local wildlife and habitats. The area presents an extraordinary natural beauty with its combination of wildflower meadows and ancient woodland and ponds that are home to diverse wildlife. The area provides a sanctuary for birds and butterflies and numerous native wildlife species. The entrance with its leafy foliage creates an immediate sense of tranquility which transports you away from your daily stress. There is also a number of dens to keep little (and big) children entertained.
Our Glamping Tent: A Luxury Lodge in the Wild
We stayed in one of Secret Meadows’ stunning Luxury Lodge Tents, and it truly lived up to its name. The tent provided spacious accommodations with stylish design elements and premium equipment that elevated it into a luxurious boutique hotel experience above standard camping accommodations. With enough room to sleep up to six people, it was perfect for our family break.
The interior area achieved a perfect blend of rustic features with modern comfort through its sophisticated design approach. The accommodation featured actual beds with comfortable duvets and a farmhouse-inspired kitchen space and a fully equipped bathroom with hot water supply. We had our own firepit and BBQ outside which was ideal for spending time under the stars during evening hours.
The enchantment of the evening started when darkness descended. We lit the lanterns and candles provided, which bathed the tent in a warm, golden glow. We toasted marshmallows over the crackling fire, drank steaming mugs of hot chocolate, and listened to the gentle hoots of owls in the trees above. The experience transported us into a magical world which completely surrounded us with natural beauty.

Things to Do: From Goat Walking to Wildlife Spotting
There’s no shortage of things to do at Secret Meadows – whether you want to unwind or explore. Being located on a protected nature reserve means you’re surrounded by opportunities to connect with the outdoors.
The resident animals at the site became one of our most memorable experiences. The friendly goats and ponies brought joy to children while the daily animal care activities teach children about responsible pet care for all types of animals. The activity of goat walking provides equal entertainment value to its adorable nature. The goats displayed unique personalities which made our meadow walking tour more enjoyable.
The site provides different nature-based activities which change with seasons including bushcraft classes and foraging workshops and yoga and therapeutic massage sessions for visitors who want to experience nature more intensely.
Fun for All Ages – and Dogs Too!
The most notable aspect of Secret Meadows is its welcoming environment for all visitors. The destination provides different activities which suit every type of visitor who wishes to share quality time with their family.
The site allows dogs, which proved to be a major advantage for our family. While pets must be kept on leads due to the nature reserve status, there’s a dedicated dog-walking field where they can stretch their legs and enjoy the fresh air safely. The site demonstrates its guest-oriented approach through this thoughtful addition, which welcomes all visitors, including their pets.
The Private Hen Coop: A Fresh Start to the Morning
A unique and charming feature of Secret Meadows is the chance to book your very own private hen coop during your stay. Our child found this experience to be the most exciting part because he enjoyed watching the chickens and he loved collecting eggs from the chicken coop every day.
It’s a fun and educational experience that gives children (and adults!) People acquire direct knowledge about their food sources through this experience because it provides them with hands-on learning that standard daily activities do not provide.
Scenic Trail Walks and Woodland Wanders
We used our time to discover the attractive walking paths which run through the entire site. These trails take you through a variety of habitats – from lush green woodland to wildflower meadows – and offer plenty of chances to stop and soak in the views, spot wildlife, or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
The trails feature clear signage which helps families with children to explore while teaching them about the native plants and animals of the area. It’s an ideal way to get some gentle exercise while fully appreciating the stunning natural environment.
Extras That Make a Difference: Pantry & Charging Station
Secret Meadows has thought of everything to make your stay as smooth and enjoyable as possible. The site pantry serves as a great feature, which offers various basic items and local products and beverages and sustainable personal care products. The service enables users to buy additional items or substitute lost items from the same website without having to exit the site. A public area-based charging station allows people to charge their devices while maintaining their connection to nature.
The Verdict: We Didn’t Want to Leave
Our stay at Secret Meadows brought us an experience that we will never forget. The experience enabled us to put away our screens while we dedicated time to being together as a family. We used our time to discover new things and learn new things which made us laugh and created lasting memories.
Secret Meadows stands as an absolute must-visit destination for anyone who enjoys outdoor activities or simply wants to experience something new. This place establishes an eco-friendly setting which welcomes families through its various thoughtful elements that create special experiences for all guests.
We’re already dreaming about our next visit – and we’ll be bringing even more marshmallows next time!
