Bounce Magazine wins Small Business Hero at the Small Business Awards
At Bounce Magazine, we know firsthand the dedication, passion, and resilience it takes to run a thriving business—especially while balancing motherhood. That’s why we’re incredibly proud to share that our editor, Rachel Ducker and Bounce, have been honoured with the prestigious ‘Business Hero’ award at The East of England Small Business Awards 2024.
Rachel, the driving force behind Bounce Magazine and multiple other ventures, welcomed her third child in August last year. Despite the challenges of raising a young family, she has continued to lead with innovation and determination, proving that success in business and motherhood can go hand in hand.
Originally a small print handout in Bury St Edmunds, Bounce Magazine has transformed into a widely recognised digital publication under Rachel’s leadership. The shift from print to digital was a defining moment, and through perseverance, she has built a platform that not only engages readers but also supports businesses within our community.

Rachel’s journey hasn’t been without obstacles. Like many in the publishing industry, she had to navigate the shift to digital media during the COVID-19 pandemic, completely rethinking her approach to ensure Bounce Magazine’s continued success. Thanks to her adaptability and commitment, our publication has grown into a trusted resource with a strong social media presence and a loyal readership.
Beyond her role as our editor, Rachel shares her experiences with over 34,000 followers on Instagram, offering a real-life glimpse into the balancing act of entrepreneurship and family life. From business insights to candid moments with her children, she inspires others to chase their ambitions without compromise.

On receiving the award, Rachel said:
“Balancing a growing family with running multiple businesses hasn’t been easy, but I wanted to prove that you don’t have to choose between being a mother and being an entrepreneur. Winning this award after 13 years of hard work—just months after welcoming my third child—makes it even more meaningful.”
She continued:
“This recognition is a testament to what can be achieved with perseverance, passion, and community support. I hope to inspire other women, especially mums, to follow their dreams and build businesses they love, without feeling like they have to sacrifice family life.”
Rachel’s story is one of dedication and drive, and here at Bounce Magazine, we couldn’t be prouder of her achievement. As she continues to grow her businesses and empower others, we look forward to seeing what’s next for our editor.
